Our mission is to support Zambian children to complete their school education. We achieve this by building personal relationships with local communities, providing them with support and resources to help meet educational requirements.
Our vision is that every child’s right to education is realised, enabling them to create a better future for themselves and their communities.
The hope is that through access to education these children will be better able to break the cycle of poverty and contribute to the development of their communities.
LACLA was started in 2001 through the collection of 5 cent coins which would help disadvantaged children in Zambia with basic stationery. LACLA is now registered in Australia and Zambia as an NGO whose main aim is to enable as many children as possible to enrol, attend and complete school and be supported beyond Year 12.
